Hiking the Tripyramids loop

The weekend before our Peru trip, Rosie, Sammy, and I hiked the Tripyramids to help get into hiking shape.

There were many painted trillia along the way.

 A bird's nest in a low bush.

Lichen...why do I like lichen so much?

View east, with Pleasant Mountain in the farthest distance, center-right.

Sammy leading the way as we head down the end of the ridge.

Heading down the south slide.

A river, high with spring runoff, posed a problem. We eventually shimmied across on the log, and Sammy ran across the log with no hesitation whatsoever.

 Purple trillium.

Total around 11 miles and 2600 vertical feet.
