GTNP backpacking, first installment

On Monday, Tuesday, And Wednesday, Rosie and I were out backpacking in the park. We did a beautiful  trip, up Cascade Canyon's South Fork the first day, then over Hurricane Pass to Alaska Basin the second day, then over Buck Pass and out Death Canyon via Static and Albright Peaks. The first day's photos:

Teewinot and Mt Owen from Cascade Canyon.

Looking up at the Grand Teton from our first night's campsite. Both our campsites were like shots from an REI catalog.

Somebody before us had pitched their tent in the exact same spot and for some reason left a number of stakes behind when they left. Handy because our tent had been a few short. Rosie here is excited by the booty.

What's for dinner? HAIL!!

'Biner added for scale.

The hailstorm was vigorous but it only lasted about 15 minutes. The hail was mostly a couple centimeters in diameter and if it had been much bigger we would really have needed to take cover.

Looking back to the Cascade Canyon fork.

Auto-HDR shot of out first campsite.
